Uncle died with no will. What do I do with bitcoin? (x-post from /r/personalfinance)

My uncle recently died unexpectedly without a will. I am his next of kin. He had no assets except several bitcoin.

I have my both my uncle's computer and cell phone, which gives me access to the bitcoin. He had also recently added me to his bank account as a joint owner. I'd like to avoid a lengthy probate process. What is the best way to go about taking control of the bitcoin? Ideally I'd like to convert it to USD as I know very little about bitcoin and I'm uncomfortable with the risk.
