Satoshi Belled the Cat

I was reading some of Æsop's fables with my kids recently, and we read the one called "Belling the Cat". Basically, it's about a bunch of mice who are discussing how they can avoid getting eaten by a cat, and one of them suggests they put a ribbon around its neck with a bell, so they'd hear the cat coming from far away. They all think it's a great idea, until one mouse asks, "But who is to bell the cat?" The moral of the story is "It is easy to propose impossible remedies."

Anyway, I was thinking about this and realized that Satoshi Nakamoto not only kept his identity secret enough to be the one to bell the cat, but then also disappeared before the metaphorical cat could seek him out for revenge.

Also, this helps explain why altcoins are pointless: the cat has already been belled, and now that it's aware of the bell, any mouse that tries to put another bell on it is just asking to be eaten.
