On today's vote regarding the crack down on unhosted wallets and privacy, it passed by a thin margin because we didn't take action like last time. I purchased $100 worth of gold and $100 worth of Bitcoin on March 15th 2022 and I plan to track the data until myself or bitcoin is dead. I personally believe bitcoin will be around long after i'm dead. The gold nugget is 1.61 grams and is equal to $100 as of March 15th, 2022 as well as the purchase of 240,313 satoshis also equal to $100. I then transferred the sats to an opendime that I initialized using a photo of myself holding pictures of Jerome Powell and Peter Schiff to generate the wallet address. The transaction confirmed in block 727525 ( link ). I have some basic experience with framing and tried my hand at my own shadow box to float everything in. I found someone on etsy to carve me a trophy plaque for $7 and put everything together. Bitcoin wallet clients can differ greatly from each other in terms of UX, but one thing you may be used to is having your private key stored in an encrypted file, as Electrum does. Although Sparrow appears to store the 12-24 standard seed words, every time you reopen your wallet file and are prompted to enter a passphrase, it regenerates the private key on the fly. Because there’s no second confirmation of that passphrase (apart from when you first create the wallet), if you have a typo in your passphrase, you’ll end up with a completely different set of UTXOs that you may never be able to recreate again. I found this out the hard way while setting up several new multisig wallets for friends and family. After creating the wallets, I took a break and closed Sparrow. Came back later to reopen the wallets and send small test transactions to them. With one wallet, I mistyped the passphrase and because there was no transaction history yet, it wasn’t obvious that the UTXOs weren’t right.

But let’s say the hash rate gets adjusted for a new ATH difficulty today, and then 90% of miners get shut down tomorrow because of nuclear war or Biden falling down some stairs. We would be 2016 blocks away from the next difficulty adjustment and they’re all going to take a lot longer than 10 minutes to mine. How will those 10% of surviving miners even be able to produce enough hash power to make it to the next difficulty adjustment? As of today, Bitcoin's 4-year moving average, which has been ever-increasing since Bitcoin's creation, has reached 20K, which was the previous TOP in 2017. Historically, the price has only very rarely EVER touched its 4-year moving average, and only for mere hours or days. Even during the huge COVID-19 black swan event, Bitcoin's price dipped just slightly below its 4-year moving average for only 4 days, from March 12 - 16, which was the chance of a lifetime to buy low. Now with the 4-year moving average at 20k, we can be (relatively) assured that the 2017 top is now the absolute bottom! I've recently came across this BBC article saying Russia is going to be using their own network. Hypothetically speaking, if they do get that and still run bitcoin (or any other cryptos) nodes on their own, wouldn't they just keep adding completely different blocks to the rest of the network in the world and not have any interaction with each other? What would happen if the two networks join when they reconnect back to the internet again? Would they just reset all of their account deposit and revert back to where they were before? Or if their hash rate is higher than 51%, would the rest of the world be affected by this? I'm curious and somewhat concerned. Any ideas? Saylor was explaining how 99.99% of alt coins are actually securities... And he explained that Bitcoin dodged a big bullet when the block size war happened. If the big blockers had had their ways and changed the base protocol, it would have shown that Bitcoin is controlled by a few and thus weakening the argument that Bitcoin is property and not a security. So I cannot stress enough that updates are very dangerous and the Bitcoin community was wise enough to avoid hard forks at all costs. Bitcoins from 10 years ago can still move using the original protocol. Saylor went on to say that coins like coin #2 whose monetary policy change every 6 months cannot be considered property and are thus securities.
