Mining is currently 10^20 times more lucrative than cracking accounts on average.

The largest account has 168000 bitcoin. Brute forcing a private key takes around 2^125 attempts. That means each brute force computation yields on average 4 * 10^-25 satoshi.

Mining difficulty is currently 2.95 Tr, and mining yields about 6.3 bitcoin (including fees). That means each brute force attempt yields on average 2 * 10^-5 satoshi.

Mining is therefore 10^20 times more cost effective on average than theft by brute force.

Edit: At current hash rates of 10^18 EH/s, brute force theft yields about 1 satoshi per month (on average).
