Hi, guys as always I post this here too so it reaches more people! Hi crypto brothers, I'm Venezuelan "living" here have been posting this numbers for more than 5 years. Considering that here the FIAT currency is a really shitcoin (Bolivares, "Bs." since 2017 14 zeroes have been removed from the currency) crypto has been really a help! One BTC is around 540,000 Bs. right now. It would have been 54,000,000,000,000,000,000 pre2007 Bs. While LocalBitcoins is not that used anymore (it was years ago, with a volume of over 2k BTC weekly) but it has an API and shows everything! Exchanges used are Binance (king), AirTM, Reserve and so on. Last year inflation was over 300% (lower than last year), average wage is around 100 USD monthly (A manager wage is aroudn 300 USD monthly) and YES! Minimum wage is 130 Bs. monthly, exchange rate is around 22 Bs. / USD, so 5.90 USD! People use crypto to avoid inflation, receive remittances, exchange mining profits (as I always sa

I'm into crypto since 2016 but never moved crypto from exhcnages. Reasons are: I don't know how to do that. It sounds too complicated to me. Also, I'm afraid to lost my BTC. When I try to withdraw it to a cold storage and BTC "stuck" in between, nobody is going to help me. Also, if I manage to move it to a cold storage, nobody is going to help me if something happens in the mean time. If my cold storage brokes for some reason, who's going to help me? What if Ledger, let's say, stops working like any other USD device that can defunct at any time. For me, its too much risk to have significant amounts on cheap devices and also not having any type of support that can assist. I have my crypto on a few exchanges and whenever I had any issues, their support teams helped me quickly. Still, I'm very aware that what I'm doing is not smart and would like to change my mind. TL;DR - If Bitcoin sets your expectations, international wire transfers as a banking consumer are an absolute joke, and when you hear people question the value or usefulness of BTC, transfers should be a case in point. For an international wire transfer as a consumer, you have to go in person to get a human banker to analyze your account to give permission to send money and then set up the transfer, and you have to do this before 2pm on a weekday, pay $50, wait 2-3 weeks, and only then is your transfer complete. With BTC, the process takes minutes, can happen anytime, you can do it from home, you don't need anyone's permission, and it costs virtually nothing. Bitcoin represents movable digital wealth without government control or the need of an armoured truck to relocate it. All the ills of cash is common to all currencies so that point in null and Bitcoin is a payment system not just a "commodity" that is dependent on one person to pay a higher price for it than the last person did. Contrary to what Warren said, Bitcoin may not produce a physical product like a farm does, but it creates a digital monetary system just as Visa does but without central control or selective access. Warren may be a very good investor but history shows that he's been late or didn't show up on other new technologies that went viral. An old dog is excellent at old tricks and able to stay on top of the game by keeping to what he knows but that doesn't take away from the fact that the digital age is beyond his thinking. I was a cable installer and this kid was following me around the house while I was troubleshooting their cable connection. He started talking to me about bitcoin and digital currency. He said it was $10 and that one day it was going to be worth a lot of money. I assured him that I would indeed buy one Bitcoin before it became too expensive. Five years went by and it was early 2017, I decided to check the price. It was $1100. I still didn’t buy. A few more months go by. I checked the price again. $2,000 “Wow!” I thought to myself. “I better buy it soon.” From 2k it crashed to $1750 and I pulled the trigger. Sold at 42k after it crashed from 69k. It is what it is. As I have been posting for years, last week 33 BTC were traded in Venezuela, this is only measured using LocalBitcoins because they are the only ones that make public their stats. It's not the most used exchange by far, leaders are Binance, Reserve, AirTM among others. Years ago it was used a lot, trading over 2k BTC weekly. One BTC were traded around 320,000 Bs. (Bolivares) And yes, monthly minimum wage is under 7 USD. It's 130 Bs. (Since 2007, 14 zeroes have been removed from the Bolivar) and exchange rate is over 18 Bs. per USD. Average wage is around 100 USD. Inflation is very high, Bolivares lose value each day, so people use crypto to avoid that. Also, people receive remittances from abroad, exchange mining profits and so on (big mining comunity, as electricity is free..) Most people know very little about Bitcoin. They're uninformed, misinformed and disinformed (by the media and institutions, public and private alike). For example, they've heard about SFB and FTX and think Bitcoin is the same thing, and therefore a scam. That's why the price is so suppressed. We largely underestimate people's ignorance. The only reason it hasn't seen $100k, $1m, $10m yet, is ignorance. The asymmetry between thaeir ignorance and our understanding of it creates a great arbitrage opportunity. As time and events (more government control, the introduction of CBDCs) remove said ignorance, the mispricing will diminish. I had the ability to buy btc at 13k...I decided to DCA. My friend had 3 btc that he bought at 2k, sold at 8k, then rebought at 20k. There are two roads: Road 1: your government is responsible, will run a balanced budget, and has a plan for the debt, has solutions for the massive amount of old people and their entitlements/care, and everything will be okay.
