I used to be against bitcoin, but I’ve changed my mind. Here’s why

Around early/mid 2019 my friends got into crypto. At the time, I was skeptical, like your average person it was just internet money. No one really accepted it as payment, it had just come off a bear cycle, and was still mostly viewed as being used for illegal things, such as drugs on silk road. Also, they did a lot of shitcoin stuff. I was interested in btc but was hesitant and skeptical.

Here’s why I have changed my mind and turned into a maxi:

In mid 2019 I started meal prepping my lunches. I paid $1.99 a pound for boneless skinless chicken breast. Today, that same pound, same brand, boneless skinless chicken breast is $2.99. It has increased 50% in about 4 years (fed says inflation is way under 50% btw!).

One dollar in 2019 would buy a half pound of my beloved boneless skinless chicken breast

Today, that same dollar will get me 1/3rd of a pound of my lunch meat.

I do not expect that dollar to be able to buy me 1/2 of a pound ever again.

In 2019, bitcoin was ~4,000 so I could get 2,000 pounds of chicken breast for a bitcoin

Today, I can get about 9,000 pounds for a bitcoin.

While bitcoin has held/increased value due to scarcity, my dollar paycheck values have been demolished.

I’ve gone from skeptic to I wish I got paid in btc.
