Bitcoin lowers time preference

My wife likes to spend as much money as she can, putting some away for a rainy day. The only reason she would save is if she has a purchase in mind. Her reasoning is that inflation is always happening, so why not spend money now, because otherwise you are just losing money to inflation. I like to save money for the sake of saving, without a purchase in mind. Saving money feels good for me, but not just because it provides safety. Its kind of like a game. I find comfort in knowing that "my" number keeps growing. Whenever I tell this to my wife, she gives me strange look, and tries to find someplace to spend the money on. Basically, she wants to spend every penny I'm trying to save

Half a year ago, I started reading Bitcoin standard, and it has changed my perspective on money and economy. I communicated that to my wife and it seems that it has also changed her perspective. We started saving in Bitcoin half a year ago, and have already accumulated a good chunk of savings. My wife's urge to find someplace to spend the money on has gone down - when she asks me what am I saving the money for, I tell her that I'm saving for the sake of saving, to hopefully spend it in the future on something valuable to us. She is not giving me the strange looks anymore.

Bitcoin lowers time preference. Bitcoin enables individuals truly save for their future. Bitcoin is a lighthouse in our uncertain world.
