!!!! COINSWITCH & EXODUS SCAMMED 6500 EURO !!!! CoinSwitch took 6500 Euro Hostage and refuse to Return after KYC / Money swapped over Exodus

Hello everybody, My Situation: Im a User of the Exodus Wallet, I wanted to swap my coins from bitcoin cash to bitcoin. So I’ve informed myself in the web and read everywhere the Advertising of Exodus that they are not doing KYC and that theire % are a bit higher because they are taking care about all the Exchange Process. And also giving Support if everything goes wrong. So ive decided I will swap the coins in Exodus for the extra %. What happened to me? I’ve swapped bch worth 4500 EUR and 2000 EUR to btc. After I didn’t received them for a Couple Hours I’ve checked the Status. In Exodus was written CONTACT US. So I’ve contacted Exodus. Exodus told me they have no Idea what happened and I should contact Coinswitch, they dont do the Exchanges by themselves, they are using coinswitch for this and get 50-70% Commission. So I’ve contacted Coinswitch in the Chat anonym and ask them if they are doing KYC, because also Coinswitch is advertising themselves that they are not doing any KY

BitMart is a scam

Don't be stupid like I was and deposit crypto into the BitMart exchange because you will never get it back. They allow you to deposit without KYC but then they require KYC to withdraw and they have a ridiculous KYC process (a million different things, selfies, etc, all of which I provided)... they will just keep rejecting what you provided for stupid reasons. Basically they use the KYC process as a tool to prevent users from ever withdrawing their crypto. Please upvote so that other people will be warned not to use this scam exchange. Beware: Purse.io Account with 500$ balance mysteriously deactivated

Throwaway. Everything was fine for a couple of months of using Purse.io on small orders. I've only become more and more suspicious these last few days when I try to exchange larger and larger value; withdrawals keep getting delayed, and some buyers strangely giving incorrect address/not accepting shipments. Things turned to worst when I tried to buy a 600$ worth of gadget for a new user; for a few days after the order was delivered the Purse mods kept delaying the release of my money, saying they were giving the other person 24 hrs to release my funds, giving them the benefit of the doubt I waited patiently for my money. 3 days past and my account was suddenly disabled upon attempting to withdraw my wallet balance (from my other orders). I received an email saying it could be due to excessive cancellations; but the thing is all my recent cancellations were due to either the buyer giving incorrect address, or their freight forwarder not accepting the shipped package. My account

Something awesome just happened

So I went to this Bitcoin ATM Today to get some more btc and as soon as I approach said ATM a slightly elderly woman approaches me and asks if I knew how this works. With a smile I asked what she needed and she said she has to send a certain amount of cash to a btc address until tonight. Sure thing, I can help you with that! A bright smile showed up on her face as she told me the other people at this Western Union were pretty unfriendly and she can’t really believe how friendly I reacted. I smiled back and we started the process of getting cash into the ATM, get it on to her wallet and send it to the address she wanted it sent to. She was incredibly friendly, we talked a little and when all was done, she asked if she could do me any favor. I said I helped without expecting something in return and that I’m really thankful for her offer but I’m free of any wishes. She then gave me a hug and said thank you very much with a bright smile. It was the best encounter with another person

Quick question for the community. I recently came across a spare $15k from an old retirement account I forgot about. I want to invest it in bitcoin. Is that a good idea? What nobody usually mentions about Bitcoin.

At current prices almost $13,000,000 of new bitcoins are mined every day. That almost $5 billion a year. These have to be absorbed constantly just to keep the price stable. When the price drops like to 6500 or really any price, I think about all the new money needed to absorb the supply. I am always amazed it doesn’t drop more. From time to time I buy a little more when prices drop. The halving will cut the current 1800 new bitcoins a day to 900. If the price goes to $20,000 that will be $18,000,000 a day after halving. My point is this. I have no idea what price bitcoin will be next year or even in a few years. But I am exceedingly confident in the long term and every time the price drops but doesn’t continue to drop, it makes me realize just how strong bitcoin is, even with 1800 new bitcoins every day. We're almost at the point where BTC price needs to be quoted in SATs. I have a wallet that does it and an app, but I wish that it was more prevalent. Better for new investor psychology I think. It's like when Apple did the 6 for 1 stock split. Price seemed real high at $600 all of the sudden you can get Apple for $100! What a deal! Nothing had changed though. SATs units or whatever. History time: Tell us how you found about Bitcoin and how has it changed your life

I found BTC in 2011 when Creepypastas where a thing all over YouTube, I watched some dude's video about the deep web and how you could find everything you couldn't find on the "surface web". I downloaded TOR, went through some sites out of curiosity (mostly fake ID sellers) and noticed this weird symbol ₿ I had never seen before. I did some research of what it meant and I found some sellers accepting PayPal so I bought $30 worth of BTC (close to 15 BTC at that time) and continued browsing the deep web, then I forgot about the whole thing for the next 6 years... In June 2017, I saw a local news article on how well Bitcoin had been performing throughout 2017, then it hit me: HOLY SHT I HAD SOME OF THOSE COINS, luckily I was able to find my keys and move those coins to an upgraded wallet. When BTC hit $18,000 I sold 3 coins to help my parents remodel their restaurant, and paid their mortgage (a big "F*** you" to the bank in behalf of Satoshi lol).. Now we

Youtube Have Removed My Bitcoin Videos, Tutorials, Explainers, Housing, Finance & Economics Content

For those that don't know me I run Australia's largest crypto channel. I've been advocated for crypto adoption in Australia since 2012. Today I woke up on Xmas to a strike warning from Youtube for harmful or dangerous content. Checked my email, nothing. A few hours later after Xmas lunch, another strike. I hadn't even done anything on Youtube since the first strike. Still no email. I cover a lot of topics related to finance, economics, housing market, stocks as well as crypto related content. We don't do paid ICO or token promotion. I have done tutorials on leverage trading platforms. I'm really not sure what to do. If the trend continues most crypto youtubers will be affected. I get there's plenty of bad guys out there, but there's plenty of good ones who have been big advocates for Bitcoin & crypto for years. Wish us luck... https://twitter.com/AlexSaundersAU/status/1210100907909750784 Edit: Yes I already post to & support decentralised platf

i have deleted my remaining Bitcoin vids on Yutube

earlier this month, one of my 'Desktop wallet restoration' videos was forcefully removed and then a strike recorded as a violation. i have since removed ALL of my btc vids. my blockchain help vids always get good views and likes (100k+ views). never a bad comment or complaint. however, the first removal was classed as "Inappropriate Content" and no further details provided. zero explanation! i have been a Yutube/Google partner for 5+ years and have an impeccable track record. I am in no way a giant channel, but am a trusted source.. i assumed my situation was a one-off and took it personally (and still do). we must find a solution> Jorge Sprave the mad German inventor has started a class action and a global union for Yutube creators. 2020 Will Bring Record Highs for Crypto Assets Despite Pessimism

The emotions in the crypto community are in the range from mild boredom on the positive side to apathy and depression on the other extreme. Despite the gloomy background, I believe 2020 will be one of the best years in the history of crypto assets bringing record highs. Here are the reasons why… The broader economy We live in extraordinary times. Central banks are determined to avoid a recession at all costs by providing liquidity and cutting rates which creates a speculative investment environment. The low interest rate are pumping the valuations of almost any asset class and are also making money managers climb up the risk ladder in search of a meaningful return. Since government bonds don’t yield anything, investors need to buy corporate debt, the ones who previously bought corporate bonds are now into stocks, the stocks loving investors have moved capital to private equity and venture capital etc. The FED balance sheet jumped $370 billion since September in a new program which

On this Christmas, remember that Bitcoin wasn’t worth a penny when Satoshi invented it. The Bitcoin Ethos predates and transcends its US Dollar valuation. Bitcoin wasn’t invented because it was valuable relative to USD. It was invented because Satoshi thought it could be a useful tool for humanity.

The price of Bitcoin truly does not matter. All that matters is that people keep fighting for and defending the ethos of sound money in the face of tyrannical global government. If we stay strong, keep fighting, and defend freedom, then superficial (and subjective) metrics like fiat prices will take care of themselves. Japanese retail giant Rakuten announces allowing users to use shopping points to exchange for bitcoin, etc., boosting cryptocurrency adoption

Japanese retail giant Rakuten now allows its customers to convert their Rakuten Group loyalty points into mainstream cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. According to an official announcement on December 24, Rakuten users in Japan can use this feature immediately, but they need to have an account in Rakuten Wallet, Rakuten's cryptocurrency exchange subsidiary. The company says its customers can convert their loyalty points into three different cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, ETH and BCH. It is understood that Rakuten is not the only company that allows Japanese users to exchange loyalty program points into cryptocurrencies. In August 2019, the cryptocurrency exchange bitFlyer partnered with technology service company Tpoint Japan to enable its Japanese customers to convert loyalty program points into bitcoin and receive rewards paid in cryptocurrency. The increase in such companies means that Bitcoin will be accepted by more and more people. What do you think? Submitted Decem

Venezuela UPDATE. 1 BTC is around 315,000,000 Bs (Bolivares). A month ago it was 265,000,000 Bs. Monthly minimum wage is around 3 USD. 781 BTC were traded last week using LBTC (ATH since June) which is around 248,020,000,000 Bs. (ATH) AMA.

Updating the situation here in Venezuela. These volumes are only measured using Localbitcoin (LBTC), the weekly trade increased this week over 100 BTC (last weeks was around 672 BTC per week). Minimum wage (which is earned by a big chuck of the population, not like other countries) is 150.000 Bs. wage (3 USD) + 150.000 Bs. food bonus (3 USD) PER MONTH. Goverment gave away a 0.5 Petro airdrop to a lot of people this week as a "bonus", which is around 30 USD. Biggest bank note is 50,000 Bs. which is around 1 USD. You need to use debit and credit, bank transfer, cryptos and USD to pay anything. This after 5 zeroes were shaved from the currency less than a year ago and 3 zeroes more 12 years ago. So that banknote would be 5,000,000,000,000 Bs. Here in Venezuela situation is really hard, some people dont believe that amount is the minimum wage. I work and earn more than that (anyway, the amount is really low, I'm sure with that amount I would be living homeless in Colom

Why is it so difficult to find a Bitcoin exchange?

I just started with BTC literally a few days ago. I find the technology very interesting and I definitely see the potential. However securing and buying BTC has been nothing short of infuriating. I’ve tried Coinbase, but while it’s been simple to set up and buy, they limit my purchase to $250/week and also charge a very high fee, almost 5% of my purchase. I’ve tried Binance, but their portals like Koinal have had reports of scams and missing BTC. I’m in the process of getting verified by Kraken. Even with the front/back of my driver's license, a selfie, and a credit card statement confirming my address, STILL their support emailed me this today “to complete your account verification, we must ask you to provide an ID Confirmation Photo. An ID Confirmation Photo is a picture of you, holding your ID and a handwritten note with your signature, the current date, and a message stating “Only for trading digital currency on www.kraken.com.” I feel like I'm gonna be extorted

Thanks to u/d3vrandom comment , I know that P2WPKH and P2WSH are both called native segwit, one used for standard wallets and the other is used for multisig wallets. But what is BIP84? I wrote an offline Bitcoin block explorer that loads data from Bitcoin Core and allows you to explore the blockchain on your PC

Dear /r/Bitcoin , I wrote a set of tools to import data from .bitcoin/blocks/blkXXXXX.dat files into databases and allow you to explore the blockchain on your own PC by running ad-hoc queries of all the main Bitcoin Core data structures including blocks, TX's, inputs, outputs, addresses and more. It's written in C++ and uses Bitcoin Core itself to read the data, so it's always 100% compliant with the latest Bitcoin release. I abstracted away the database functions, so you can implement "drivers" for any other DB system. I've been playing with it on MySQL but perhaps others would prefer Neo4J or Cassandra for nosql graph analysis. Once the data is loaded, you can run any database query against it. I implemented a simple reference Python interface to it so you can play with the blockchain. I made this outer layer in Python but any other language can be easily plugged in, including big data analysis systems like Spark or Hadoop. Some stuff you can do with it

Crypto for the Holidays

For Christmas I usually mail my niece a card and $20. This year I sent a text explaining how to get a BTC address using Trust Wallet mobile app - just because it’s super easy. (she’s 16 yrs old, for context) She had heard of Bitcoin but didn’t really know anything about it. Then I sent her a little BTC. Her reply: “OMG, Cool!!!!! Thanks, This is awesome” Her mom (my sister) said she’s now learning about Bitcoin and is all excited about it. A small win for crypto! I guess they don’t teach this stuff in schools yet. Not that BTC's price in USD is all that matters, but the thing about long downward fiat price trends in Bitcoin is that they always turn into long upward price trends which push the fiat price to new all time highs... because the fundamental reasons for Bitcoin's existence still haven't changed.

While Bitcoin's price has captivating qualities and excessive influence on our emotions, remember that the fundamental reasons for Bitcoin's existence have not changed. Until those fundamentals change in a material way, then I'm bullish on the price long-term. It's important to focus on less volatile metrics that are more fundamental to Bitcoin's investment thesis. Here is a quick list of fundamental reasons for Bitcoin's existence: 1) The Fed continues to monetize government debt and bailout banks. 2) Bitcoin continues to add blocks roughly every ten minutes with every satoshi 100% completely and accurately accounted for. 3) Miners continue to push hash rate higher. Although you'll notice that difficulty and hash rate are currently stagnating, which we have seen happen repeatedly throughout Bitcoin's history. 4) Developers are building out more infrastructure. 5) The US govt will continue to run budget deficits and increase the debt through excess

Over the past year my team and I have been tirelessly working to build a Bitcoin onramp built by Bitcoiners, for Bitcoiners. Today, I'm excited to introduce River Financial: the best place to buy, sell, and use Bitcoin for the long term investor.

Hey /r/bitcoin ! I'm Alex Leishman, a longtime Bitcoiner and member of this sub. Today I'm very proud to announce the launch of River Financial ( river.com ), a financial institution built specifically for long-term Bitcoin investors. TL;DR At River.com you can: Connect your U.S. bank account and buy Bitcoin at a competitive price with USD Setup recurring Bitcoin purchases with discounted fees Send and receive Bitcoin onchain or via the Lightning Network See detailed investment performance metrics and select specific tax lots when selling (coming soon) Easily access human support (phone, chat, email) Background Like many of you, I became quite frustrated over the last few years as I watched many once-respected companies in the space (e.g. Coinbase) turn their backs on Bitcoin and become casinos for altcoin trading. So, I decided to compete with them and build the company that Bitcoin deserves. At River.com we deeply believe that Bitcoin (and Bitcoin alone) will con

Some very important points that most people do not understand about Bitcoin

Point 1) Most people do not understand that you can't send money over internet, but only information. Bitcoin is the first digital settlement layer. When I send a picture to someone on Facebook messenger, I don't actually send a picture. I send information about the pictures structure, and the picture gets restructured on the client side (the cellphone) of the user I send it to. Copy of the information is being sent, not the picture itself. So you can't send money over internet, it is not possible, only information. If I have a bank account at some bank, and I send $50 dollars to another person in the same bank by using the banks website, then a transaction happens between two people within the same infrastructure, which is the banks back-end system and database. So the banks system just subtracts $50 dollars from one person and adds $50 dollars to another person. But no money has moved, only information has been edited. But if I send money to someone that uses another
