Bitcoin Filters Work By Default, and That's a Good Thing | To Filter Spam From Your Bitcoin Core Node, set “permitbaremultisig=0” & “datacarrier=0” in your Bitcoin.conf File | Use "blocksonly=1" to turn off your mempool entirely

BTC Dumping

People need to realize that your BTC is dumping in price no different than BlackRocks, Fidelity, etc. These companies are not in the business of losing money or promoting a failed product (ETF). Clearly these ETFs are popular and are continuously being bought. Wait until wealth funds, pensions, and all these other money pits get involved in BTC ETF. These prices will return to what they were, if not much higher now that more BTC have been bought by these companies in such short time. Couple that with the halving and you have a supply/demand shock we are all waiting for. At that point, BTC will have that priced in and who knows where price well be. Let's not forget that in -10 years, mining will only be able to produce less than 1 BTC. Hence guys like British HODL talking about getting to your 1 BTC. Better hope you stacked sats in the mean time. Submitted January 24, 2024 at 12:11AM by Successful_Nail_9807 https://ift.tt/3lBRqzE

MT Gox fudd

Been in BTC for yrs, Can't believe how predictable selloffs are, based on any fudd whatsoever which leads to huge selloffs & sudden drops MT GOx selling supposedly over a billion dollars in BTC(right around halvening) is not only bs,but an insignificant amount on the market, making up less than .003 to .006 of the marketcap, yet as usual everyone immediately freaks out & sells what amounts to 100x worth that amount in marketcap. That said the top indicator just went off which has predicted every rally within weeks ahead of time, followed by local top,so according to this indicator along with the golden cross on the weekly chart,I expect us to bounce within days & run up til the halvening (we might drop further before then though) Will be posting some charts showing what I mean soon. The more time goes on the more I am convinced that only when fear is the greatest do we go parabolic & multiply in price 4-6x. Submitted January 23, 2024 at 03:03PM by hellprism h

What are the realistic bear cases for Bitcoin?

It’s all well and good to think about how great everything could be with Bitcoin, but reality is probably not going to align with that exactly. So what are the things that are possible, maybe even probable, that would negatively affect Bitcoin in the short, medium, and long terms? Continue to be impressed with what The Bitcoin Standard understood in 208 about the future of bitcoin. The first major country to adopt will really change things.

“The point at which central banks start to consider using it is the point at which they are all engaged in a reverse bank run on bitcoin. The first central bank to buy bitcoin will alert the rest of the central banks to the possibility and make many of them rush toward it. The first central bank purchase is likely to make the value of bitcoin rise significantly and thus make it progressively more expensive for later central banks to buy it. The wisest course of action in this case is for a central bank to purchase a small amount of bitcoin. If the central bank has the institutional capacity to purchase the currency without announcing it, that would be an even wiser course of action, allowing the central bank to accumulate it at low prices.” Submitted January 21, 2024 at 08:20PM by Ok_Hope_4261 https://ift.tt/JiE2SD4

Bitcoin’s price is a distraction from simply learning about it

Bitcoin is so much more than the fiat you could exchange for it. Don’t let the ETF and daily price swings distract you from learning about what it is, and more importantly, why it is. Read the books, watch the documentaries, and challenge your understanding of Bitcoin; it will solidify why you’re buying it in the first place. Search for arguments against it too. Any idea can have a thousand perspectives. Hear them out, consider them, and draw your own conclusions. Bitcoin is the intersection of technology, mathematics, philosophy, economics, history, energy, and politics. There’s much more to think about than what it’s worth at any given moment. Hey Bitcoin community, I’ve gotta vent for a minute and I’m really curious to hear your thoughts on this. Lately, I've been seeing this narrative everywhere: “Bitcoin is the criminal’s choice.” It’s starting to really bug me. Am I alone in this, or are you guys also tired of hearing this? I mean, let's be real, cash is still the go-to for shady deals, not Bitcoin. Our transactions are on a public ledger, for crying out loud! The ETFs are going to change the unit bias of bitcoin from one full btc to sats.

One share of a spot bitcoin ETF currently represents 0.0005 BTC or 50,000 sats. For the last 15 years the public have only ever seen bitcoin quoted and priced in denominations of one full bitcoin. However because mainstream financial media monitor and report on ETFs the public is about to start seeing bitcoin ETF news headlines and stories where the price of bitcoin is denominated in the performance of ETF shares. Instead of seeing the price of bitcoin as $46,000 they will see the price to invest in one share of bitcoin as $23. This will be the trigger that finally allows the public to realise that you do not have to buy one full bitcoin to invest in btc. The mainstream financial media reporting on bitcoin performance denominated in shares of the spot ETF will change the unit bias to sats. The public will become accustomed to understanding one share of bitcoin is 50,000 sats and 50,000 sats is $23. ETFs are going to change the unit bias from one full bitcoin to sats allowing the

I bought BTC at 65k in late 2021.Im so proud to stick with my DCA for past 2 years. To all of you who have been DCA for past 2 years, you're true winners🥳

I bought BTC around November 2021 for 65k.I sticked to my DCA and cold wallet. In 2023 i managed to get down to 23k average. Been working overtime, weekends trying to buy how much i can beacuse i knew this was generational opportunity. People who have been DCA through last 2 years( or more) you're the true winners. Every bear market is hard and most of the people dont make it or lose money chasing alts. I know we can still crash to 30k(part of me wants that so i can do some heavy DCA), but future is bright especially for those who got in got position for last 2 years. We all get BTC for the price we deserve😉 I know i shouldn't be THAT happy since i have only 0,23 BTC but its hard to do better in my "poorish" country where average salary is like 800-900$ Submitted January 09, 2024 at 12:58AM by neda6117 https://ift.tt/sCuI3VB

15 years of BTC Power Law

5 years ago I made a post in this subreddit showing that BTC is a power law: Price=A*days^n, (days from Genesis Block), n=5.8. Many didn't believe me and said the past doesn't predict the future. Well, after 5 years it turns out that BTC continues its power law behavior with similar exponent. A power law is not another formula or model but the same mathematical behavior behind river formation, mountains growth, cities development, GDP vs population, and metabolic rate. Everything important is ruled by power laws, so BTC. BTC is a force of Nature. Mined with two ATI GPUS in that time , used to get 3-4 cents every two days. 3-4 dollars, who would have thought BTC was going to explode years later. Some time after i got ripped off 0,28BTC in 50BTC Pool Crash. Hodled till today. Been thru many up and downs. It's been a long way. I need money for renewing the roofing of my home and i had to sell. I think i've been lucky as my order got thru minutes before today's crash. I'm sure i will regret it in the forthcoming months, but my target was 47500K USD for taking some profit and all the ETF hype was smelling cheesy (for now). I couldn't miss this selling window. I could have done this at previous ATH, but what the fuck, its almost impossible to sell at the perfect price. Also i did not need the cash at that time. My plan is to sell 50% of my remaining balance when BTC flies around 100K, and keep the 50% remaining if BTC moons hard in let's say, anot

The biggest Bitcoin run ever?

I believe we'll experience the largest bull run for this asset like we've never seen before because of the following: There was a huge demand shock for years after the first Gold ETF approved from one institution. The difference is, we have 9 institutions racing for Bitcoin, not just one. Gold marketcap was already at around $4 Trillion after its first ETF approved. Bitcoin is still around $800 Billion. Supply of Bitcoin Exchange Supply is in 2018 low FED starting to lower interest rates this year Bitcoin halving this year It has proven that it's a flight to quality last year. I don't see what's the point of waiting for a dip before or after the ETF approved/disapproved - just keep DCA since we haven't started yet. Thousands of salespeople are about to start calling their customers about Bitcoin

One thing I don't think most people realise is that Blackrock and all of these other companies who will soon get ETF's approved, have huge teams of salespeople who's job it is to sell the companies products. All of these people are constantly under pressure for sales targets and to call their accounts to try to get them to buy something. Mostly it's the standard bag of products but now they finally have something new and exciting to get on the phone about. I've been in sales my entire career and my bet is all of these guys will see BTC as the best bet for them to bring in $$$. They'll be pushing each of their accounts to put in 1% into the ETF. Submitted January 02, 2024 at 09:20PM by zascar https://ift.tt/vOtRdkF

Never sell?

I keep hearing about this "never sell" viewpoint. My question is if you never plan to sell no matter what, then what is the purpose? Sure, you may not plan on selling now and you may even plan on holding for 20 years. That's fine. But at some point you either need to sell and/or transact somehow in order to realize value. Oh, for those that can't resist. Gold. Yes, you could have 10 gold bars. If you never sell them in your lifetime, they have provided no value to you. If you pass them to your kids and they don't sell them in their lifetimes, they provided no value to them. BTC could be $1 million per BTC but that doesn't mean anything if that value is never used. Submitted January 02, 2024 at 12:26AM by 70redgal70 https://ift.tt/GJt2MYC
