Miners are what keep the network alive. Regardless of the current situation the network should not be degraded or disconnected for Russian users. Russian civilian's don't want a war. It's unlikely Russia government is using the BTC network anyway. I too take Ukraine side in this disgusting act by Putin but we must maintain integrity of the Bitcoin network. Edit To clarify it has been reported that some cryptocurrency pools are blocking access to Russia. This is not solely limited to just BTC. Edit 2 Just to be clear. I know exactly how the network works. I'm stating freely and clearly that all pools should remain online and active for everyone and not to impose any restrictions as to retain the integrity of crypto currency. So I’ve been stacking for a couple years now, pretty much only buying through Coinbase. With the recent attempts of regulation in both the US and Canada, I want my crypto to be truly anonymous. How should I go about moving my Bitcoin from my current wallet to a non-kyc exchange so that I can “wash” it? Should I transfer to USDC first? This happened about a week ago. Was heading home from a little road trip and had to stop around about 2 hours away from home for gas. Had the wife and kids with me. Went to fill up and my cards keep getting declined. Try to call the bank and they had froze my accounts due to "suspected fraudulent activity" and said there was nothing they could do for 24 hours. No way to access any of my money and didn't have enough gas to make it home. Was starting to get a little nervous. Then I remembered I had some money in bitcoin. I was able to find a crypto atm (didn't even know those existed) within a quarter mile that I walked to. At this atm, I was able to sell some of my bitcoin and withdraw cash from the atm, which I was then able to use to buy gas to get home. Insanely lucky I had funds that were practical/useful when my bank was not accessible. And thus I realized the true benefit of Bitcoin. Just wanted to share, as I've never seen, firsthand, the practical use ...

I’d like to first add that I don’t know much about Bitcoin mining but I’m learning. My husband has been investing for several years and I was skeptical at first. I have been a long-term BTC HODLer since 2017. I don't have much, but I never want to sell, so I buy in $50-$100 increments every two weeks when I am paid. At one time, I was offered the chance to borrow money from my exchange, but I declined. I considered lending, but I had read that borrowers can and do default, and that borrowers who borrow bitcoin are likely doing so because they have been refused by banks, so I chose not to take the chance. But seeing the large amounts of APY I see on these platforms, I might give it a try. What are your opinions on BTC lending platforms? And yeah I know the saying “not your keys not your crypto”. But I'm curious as to how other people feel about them and whether the benefits outweigh the risks. Is this something anyone else does to increase their holding? I'm looking for some input. There's over 50 million millionaires in the world. I've read over and over again that there's not enough BTC (21 million) for each one. Is this some enduring fable that people just repeat without questioning? Edit: I think I had a stroke (kidding). I'm going to leave the post up just to watch myself get dragged online by strangers. Well not exactly I put it there, the city archive where I live will store letters for 100 years. They will open them in 2122. I wrote a letter and also put the private keys for 100 $ worth in BTC. What do you think are the chances the network will be still up and running? What would be the block reward by then if so? What would you put in an envelope for 100 years? Mr Mark "The Lizard Alien" Zuckerberg just threatened he will shut down Facebook and Instagram for Europe due to the GDPR. Shutting down FB is honestly not that bad (aside of logins associated with it on other sites), but it clearly shows what CEO can do to you and how much power he can have. Now imagine if Google done the same - say, shutting down Google in China for whatever reason (oh wait)... This should be a lesson to everyone - centralized projects are a risk, no matter if it's so called crypto, banks, governments or various platforms. Having no CEO, presidents, ministers solves this. So during this Dip in the Market I managed to liquidate my stonks and ETF to put it in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the answer and the only asset I can trust to hold it for decades. Other than corporations. What do you think should I do? Should I try to time the market if let‘s say the market turns really risky and euphoric by 2023 or shall I hodl and nevermind?
